Dental technology costs: compare the cost of a working service

Move beyond the software price to training, integrations, support and laboratory dependencies.

Why the quote needs context

Manufacturer descriptions of planning and guide-design products show how many functions can sit inside a digital workflow. A purchasing decision should identify which of those functions are actually included in the proposed arrangement.

Our costing approach

Separate recurring licences, usage-based charges, equipment, staff time, training and external provider fees. Use the same expected activity level when comparing options. Do not combine different currencies or count a provider charge as platform revenue merely because both appear on a case.

Test the assumptions

A low-volume practice may evaluate a service differently from a laboratory with regular throughput. Model the work at the volume the buyer can reasonably support, then test sensitivity to additional training or rework. The useful output is a transparent scenario that can be updated with actual quotations and observations. It is not a universal price benchmark or a promise of savings.

Frequently asked questions

Is the lowest licence price the lowest total cost?

Not necessarily. Required modules, training, support and external services can change the comparison.

How should an estimate be presented?

With its scope, currency, activity assumptions and distinction between quoted and observed amounts.
