Five discussion topics for a digital dentistry study group

Use focused questions to connect clinical, laboratory and technology perspectives.

A professional setting

ITI Study Clubs are one example of organized professional learning. A discussion about digital dentistry is more useful when its purpose and audience are clear, whether it occurs in an established club or a separately organized team session.

Five questions worth discussing

Where does a case lose context between systems? What makes a plan revision understandable? Which evidence would change a purchasing decision? How should an uncertain software output be communicated? What information does a receiving laboratory need before accepting work? Each question connects technology to an observable task without prescribing treatment.

Make the session productive

Choose one question and use a example. Invite each role to describe what it needs before proposing a solution. Finish with the points of agreement, unresolved questions and a next research task. Keep patient information out of an informal session and obtain permission before publishing attributed comments. A discussion can improve a product brief without being presented as clinical validation.
